The definitive method of determining the efficacy of your sterilizer is to routinely challenge its ability to kill highly resistant bacterial spores. Failure to implement a weekly or monthly spore-test program in your office can leave your patients and customers exposed to the very real threat of biological cross-contamination. The B-Safe program can help to reduce this threat by providing early indication of a sterilizer malfunction. Once a test is received, processing begins immediately. Test results are available 24 hours after testing begins. If your test begins to fail, a trained Germiphene representative will call you immediately with a recommended course of action. The B-Safe Monthly (12 tests) and Single Kits (1 test) consist of TWO test spore strips, ONE control spore strip, a simple questionnaire and a self-addressed envelope. The test strips are placed inside the sterilization chamber for the duration of one sterilization cycle. Once the cycle is complete, the two test strips are removed from the chamber and placed into the self-addressed envelope along with the control strip and completed questionnaire. The envelope is then mailed to our lab for analysis. The B-Safe Weekly Kit (13 tests) consists of ONE test spore strip, ONE control spore strip, a single questionnaire and a self-addressed envelope. The single test strip is placed inside the sterilization chamber for the duration of one sterilization cycle. Once the cycle is complete, the test strip is removed from the chamber and placed into the self-addressed envelope along with the control strip and completed questionnaire. The envelope is then mailed to our lab for analysis. Germiphene employs only qualified lab personnel to conduct test procedures and analyze the test results. Testing performed by unqualified personnel can produce inaccurate results. This inaccuracy would eliminate any advantage provided by third party testing.
